Description of Research in Relation to Placemaking :
My main research interest is tourism marketing and digital marketing of the cities. In terms of placemaking digital marketing plays an important role in distributing the information on local activities, increasing the participation of the local community to the events or to the planning of the urban areas for the benefits of various social groups.
Interest in Contribution Field/Context:
Understanding the tourist behaviour and mobility which directly and indirectly impact local communities may contribute to the success of this COST project, since these groups represent one of the main stakeholders of the popular urban areas. My academic experience on tourist behaviour related studies shows that social media and digital platforms are increasingly used by local people, domestic and international tourists for learning the latest developments in the cities. Therefore, the possibilities in using digital platforms and social media may enhance the communications, connections, and bilateral understanding among the parties who share the common areas and services in the cities.
