Tooltesting for Placemaking

25 October 2021 |

Being creative, energetic and passionate while systematically delivering bottom-up changes in the urban space around us is undoubtedly a challenging task. In this regard, the last two years did not make our job easier as placemakers, relying heavily on community engagement and personal contact. However, being resilient also requires going out of one's comfort zone, and many of us did so through the 'Tooltest Day' initiative.

What is the 'Tooltest Day' initiative?

It is a coordinated international movement that encourages hands-on, lighter-quicker-cheaper actions in particular themes. The initiative's concept relies strongly on peer-to-peer feedback and learning through doing. An approach that allowed us to improve our tacit knowledge, understand the environment around us and develop our local and international networks.

Why join the webinar?

During the webinar 'Tooltesting for Placemaking \ Climate Action', the participants will be familiarised with Tooltest Day's methodology and the already realised actions. A selected list of examples of conducted experiments, their impact and reflection upon them will be presented in the session. As a COST association member, you will be invited to engage actively with the presenters/panellists to explore the potentials for generating research material on particular topics through the Tooltest Day's initiative in the future.

To participate in the event, completion of a simple Google Form registration is required: link. To be informed about all updates regarding the webinar, follow the Facebook event. For any additional questions, please send your inquiries to the.crew@tooltestday.com.
